Brokerage operations
Let visitors into the terminal before asking them to sign up
Most visitors to a broker's website leave without seeing the product. They read a feature list, meet a registration form and go elsewhere. Letting them into the live terminal before asking for anything changes what they are deciding about: not whether to fill in a form, but whether they like the platform they are already using.
The form is the wrong first step
A registration form asks for commitment before the visitor has any reason to give it. The people who complete it are mostly those who had already decided to open an account somewhere. Everyone else, including many who would have become good clients, leaves at the first field.
What a guest should be able to do
Guest access works when it is the real terminal, not a marketing replica. The visitor should be able to judge the thing they would actually use.
Watch live prices and depth on the instruments you choose to open
Open charts, add indicators and arrange a workspace
Build a watchlist that survives registration
Open the order ticket and see exactly what trading would involve
Ask at the moment it makes sense
The right time to ask for registration is when the visitor tries to do something that genuinely needs an account: place an order, save an alert, fund. At that moment the request makes sense to them. A short signup over the screen they are on, followed by a return to the same place with their workspace intact, keeps the momentum that brought them there.
Offering a demo account at the same point gives cautious visitors a next step that does not involve money.
Guest access and compliance
Opening the terminal to visitors does not change who may become a client. Country restrictions and required risk disclosures should apply to guests exactly as they apply to registration, and some instruments or tools may be best kept behind the signup in certain markets.
Measuring the effect
Treat guest access as a funnel. Count guest sessions, the actions that prompted a signup, registrations and funded accounts, and compare them with the form-first path over the same period. The instruments that persuade people most are also worth knowing for marketing.
In short
What to take away
A form-first path loses visitors before they see the product
Guests should use the real terminal with live data
Ask for registration when an action needs an account, then return them to the same screen
Apply country restrictions to guests and measure the whole funnel
